Carlisle, Pennsylvania has a rich history when it comes to public safety, dating back to its early days of settlement. In the late 18th century, the town established a rudimentary form of public safety through the creation of a volunteer fire company, recognizing the need to combat the devastating effects of fires. As the town grew, so did its commitment to public safety. In the early 20th century, Carlisle established its own police force to maintain law and order within the community. Over the years, the Carlisle Police Department has adapted to evolving challenges and technologies, employing modern crime-solving techniques and community policing strategies.
